The final degree project titled “Restaurant Management System Using QR Technology and Mobile Devices” focuses on developing an innovative solution to optimize restaurant operations, especially in response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The urgent need for adaptation in the food service industry to new operational methods, such as the incorporation of delivery and online ordering systems, inspired the creation of a comprehensive management system. This system leverages QR technology and mobile devices to enhance order taking, management of commands, and inventory control, while also facilitating detailed reporting for business decision-making. The project provides an efficient and free tool that benefits restaurant managers, staff, and customers alike.

Responsibilities and Achievements:

Requirements Analysis and System Design: Gathered user needs and expectations, documented operational processes, created system architecture including flow diagrams, data models, and user interface prototypes, resulting in a robust design that served as the foundation for successful system implementation.

System Development and Implementation: Developed functionalities for menu management, order processing, and inventory control, integrating QR technology for enhanced menu viewing and order processing, leading to the successful deployment of a functional system that streamlines restaurant operations.

System Testing and Validation: Conducted extensive testing to ensure functionality and reliability, analyzed user feedback for improvements, and validated the system, achieving high reliability and functionality based on rigorous testing and positive user feedback.

Documentation and Training: Prepared comprehensive technical and user documentation, progress reports, and results throughout development, provided training to end-users, and offered technical support, facilitating quick and effective system adoption by users.

Operational Efficiency Improvement: Optimized administrative processes to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency, significantly increasing restaurant efficiency by reducing the time and effort required for order taking, management, and inventory control.

Adaptation to Pandemic Context: Designed a solution for managing delivery and online ordering in response to pandemic restrictions, providing an adaptable tool that enabled restaurants to operate effectively during COVID-19 related constraints.
